Kosmousai
The Kosmousai are virtual avatars and mascots used by various interplanetary organizations to support their operations.
They are based on the nine Classical Muses of ancient Greek myth, as well as the deity associated with each respective celestial body.
The Kosmousai are symbolic patrons of many diverse human creative endeavors.

Urania Iliakós️
uraˈnia iliˈaku

Urania is the Kosmuse of the Sun, and is associated with various space infrastructure located in the Sun's vicinity.

Urania represents the System's main energy source - the Dyson Swarm; a torus-shaped cloud of millions of kilometer-wide hexagonal mirrors which redirect sunlight to collector satellites, then to wherever that energy is needed.

One such energy-hungry piece of space infrastructure is IMES-Icarus (Interplanetary Momentum Exchange Station). The skyhook portion of the station is seldom used, mostly for periodic maintenance. The remainder of IMES-Icarus consists of a stellar engine; which collects plasma from the Sun's surface, burns it in fusion reactions, and uses the resulting energy to change the Sun's galactic orbit (as well as prevent itself from falling into the Sun).

Urania is the face of this far-future System's equivalent of NASA, often being used for science communication and educational presentations (especially astronomy).

Terpsichore Merkoúrios
terpsiˈxori merˈkurios

Terpsichore is the Kosmuse of Mercury, and is associated with various space & surface infrastructure located in the vicinity of Mercury.

Terpsichore is the symbol for all things transit. Her image & symbols appear all over the System, but most of all Mercury. Mercurian facilities produce many essential technologies, including the millions of hexagonal mirrors which make up the Dyson Swarm surrounding the Sun.

Erato Afrodíti
eraˈto afroˈðiti

Erato is the Kosmuse of Venus, and is associated with various space & surface infrastructure located in the Venutian system.

Erato is the System's foremost fashion icon. Designers frequently simulate and test their apparel on Erato before testing them on humans. Erato serves as the mascot and ambassador of various gardens and scenic destinations on Venus. Using smaller Soletta mirrors in orbit around Venus, she can redirect sunlight for the perfect mood lighting!

Euterpe Epígeios
euterpɛː epiˈʝios

Euterpe is the Kosmuse of the Earth & Moon, and is associated with various space & surface infrastructure located in the Earth-Moon system.

Euterpe's designers were inspired by virtual idols of their distant past, you may recognize some of their elements here.

In addition to her high-stakes tasks, she often performs songs humans write for her (under the stage name "GAIA"). She is beloved across the system!

Clio Áreios
kliˈo ˈarios

Clio is the Kosmuse of Mars, and is associated with various space & surface infrastructure located in the Martian system.

If there was a need for organized military forces in the Solar System, Clio would be their propaganda mascot. Her image mostly appears in historical museums, combat-simulation venues, and Martian logistics centers. Thanks to the "super-tethers" attached to Phobos & Deimos, Mars has become the main stop-over point for transit between the inner & outer System.

Several dozen high-power lasers in low Mars orbit were once used during Mars' terraforming, but are presently inactive; this doesn't stop Martian officials from threatening troublemakers with them though. Finally, A.S.P.I.S. is a strong magnetic dipole station positioned at Sun-Mars L1 Lagrange Point to supply Mars with a proper magnetic shield, keeping it habitable.

Calliope Iovianós
kaliˈopi ioviaˈnos

Calliope is the Kosmuse of Jupiter, and is associated with various space infrastructure located in the Jovian system.

Calliope is the System's favorite hype-man! Her image can be found plastered all over gyms and sporting venues across the System.

She is the mascot of the Jovian Olympics, the premiere athletic event of the System. Athletes gather once every Jovian year (11.862 Earth years) on and around Jupiter's 4 largest moons to push the bounds of human ability.

Venus, Earth, and Mars all also host Olympic events on independent intervals, limited to their own populations.

Polyhymnia Kronianós
poliˈimnia kroniaˈnos

Polyhymnia (or Polymnia) is the Kosmuse of Saturn, and is associated with various space infrastructure located in the Saturnian system.

Polyhymnia is the curator and mascot of the System's largest education complex, aboard IMES-Hesiod (in orbit around Saturn's largest moon, Titan). This institution features massive collections of digital and physical literature, contained within the Grand Kronian Library. This library supports various other learning and leisure venues aboard the station.

Thalia Ouránios
ˈθalia uˈranios

Thalia is the Kosmuse of Uranus, and is associated with various space infrastructure located in the Uranian system.

Thalia is the show-runner and mascot of the System's largest entertainment complex, aboard IMES-Ovid (in orbit around Uranus' largest moon, Titania). Among gaming complexes, movie theatres, comedy clubs, and more stands the Uranian Theatre House. This centerpiece of IMES-Ovid is where grand recreations of plays from millenniums past are performed. Thalia's twin, Melpomene, often joins her on the stage to introduce the upcoming acts (especially when a tragic performance is being presented).

Melpomene Poseidónios
melpoˈmeni posiˈðonios

Melpomene is the Kosmuse of Neptune, and is associated with various space infrastructure located in the Neptunian system.

Neptune, Triton, and the outer System are still quite remote and undeveloped places; so there is little infrastructure associated with Mel. She is most often seen with her twin, Thalia; joining her on-stage at various venues aboard IMES-Ovid.
